Springer-Penguin has engineered the 4700 Series bookcases for discerning architects and designers who want to specify fine quality and are not opposed to paying less. Features
The look and integrity of architectural woodworking By combining the richness of walnut, mahogany or oak with the strength of lumber-core shelf construction the Springer-Penguin 4700 Series provides every feature you'd want in a bookcase: The aesthetics of finely finished contemporary styling with a structural integrity engineered for decades of service. Our standard 3/4" limber-core shelves eliminate deflection, bow, sag or warpage. 1" lumber-core shelves, for extreme load conditions, are available at extra cost. The unique shelf supports lock into the sides as well as the shelves, enabling the sides and shelves to operate as one sturdy piece. Heavy duty fasteners allow quick and easy assembly of the bookcase and provide additional structural integrity. Unlimited Versatility Springer-Penguin offers six different 4700 Series sizes. In keeping with our attention detail, the bookcases can also be used as room dividers since both sides of the back are fully finished. In addition, Chippendale motif traditional conversation kits are optionally available. Springer-Penguin bookcases have been standardized in libraries, law offices, medical offices and major industrial concerns for years. |
The
lumber-core Process
the narrow width of each peice prevents lateral warpage. A heavy cross veneer is then applied to prevent the lines of the strips from showing through. Finally, the Grade-A outer veneer is applied and the result is exceptional strenght and good looks. Unique
Shelf Support
As weight is put on the shelf the sides are pulled together rather than spread apart. The result is a continual straight line for both the side wall and and the lumber-core shelf. |
